Right around the beginning of the pandemic, I got into herbalism. I’d watch tons of webinars, find recipes, and go “forage” in the backyard to practice. In the midst of those webinars was one hosted by a company named Born to Grow. They were the first to introduce the idea of winter gardening in my little plant world. They used SeedTime, a garden planner software, to demonstrate planning out a fall and overwintering garden. Some time later, Born to Grow merged with SeedTime. When I joined, the membership was ten dollars a month, now they’re free!
SeedTime
I haven’t decided for what to plant this year, but I have started adding what I know into the planner. (Lots of potatoes!) SeedTime takes your growing zone and frost dates and sets up weekly tasks based on the plants you enter. It already has several varieties of each of the plants you can put in now. Some, though, you’ll have to fill in manually using the information on your seed packets.
SeedTime Garden Maps
I’m still learning to use the map, but you can set up your yard with the plants you added. This is as far as I’ve gotten on mine, but I’ve got time! Dangerous words, I know. I haven’t figured out everything I’m going to plant this year to fill in the rest of the map with!
Where planting season is coming up, SeedTime is offering some free seeds with your sign up. And last I checked, 20% off other supplies in their store. Long story short, I absolutely recommend them, especially now that it’s a free program! Here’s to making our gardens easier!
