Unboxing My New Gardyn Kit

Last weekend I bought a Gardyn Studio. Though admittedly the buy was made in a case of mistaken identity, this thing has literally grown on me! Building it took about 5 minutes, and loading up the plant pods and setting up the AI was almost instant. An app “Kelby” tells me what’s needed, more light, repositioning, or to add the plant food sent with the kit.

All in all, I’m impressed with the Gardyn! My only real complaint is how hands off it’s been so far. It was fun to build it, but our only involvement has been to have the pods in the right place. I’m eager to play in some dirt! Still, for someone busier or with minimal space, it’s the perfect mini garden. It even has a vacation mode where you do a final trimming and fill up before Kelby does the rest.

Kelby AI

Kelby basically runs the show here. It tells me to fill the base with water, add plant food or perform any other plant-based task. It has its own schedule for the actual watering and light intensity. I can change it, but the pods are a little foreign to me to take over myself. For now.

Here, Kelby has created a timelapse of what our seed pods have done so far. It’s only a week but look how much they’ve grown!

I’ve gotten a notification that I’ll be trimming soon, but for now it’s cool to watch!
